Check whether a PMX model can fully support a VMD motion.De-clutter a file tree by sorting all the texture files into tidy folders and/or translating Japanese filenames to English.Identify joints that will cause MMD to crash or rigidbodies with wrong physics settings.Identify bones/morphs that won't save to VMD and explain why.Fix a million little things in display groups (add missing things, remove duplicates, remove empty groups, make sure "motherbone" is the root, fix problems that cause crashes, more).Delete invalid faces, orphan vertices (verts not connected to any faces), and bones that don't do anything (this can reduce file size by up to 55% in some cases!).Normalize vertex weights & vertex normals.Populate English names by translating Japanese names.Here's a fuller list of everything the package can do:

Or if you don't trust EXE files from random people on the internet, you need to install Python 3.6 or higher, and the "googletrans" library, but no additional libraries are needed beyond that. To run it, all you need to do is run the EXE, you don't need to install anything first. And for advanced users, it's built from open-source Python code that you can use or modify to do more specific tasks. It has a nice graphical interface (shown above) for accessing all the scripts. It's designed to be simple to use and absolutely idiot-proof so you don't feel overwhelmed with options, and it's extremely transparent so you always know what it's doing. I have written a package of scripts and tools that let you optimize/repair PMX models, find & fix issues that cause crashes, edit models, auto-translate English names, edit VMD motions, sort messy file trees, and so much more.
Amateur models or model edits are much worse, and are basically guaranteed to be full of crap that doesn't work right. They usually don't have English names, but aside from that, bugs sometimes slip thru the cracks and can make the models annoying to use.
